Spring

Spring Striper Fishing on Lake Texoma

Striper swims into shallow water on points, flats, and windblown banks and can be caught with live bait or jigs. Then in April, mature striper swims up the Red River and Washita to the Dam to spawn and stay there before returning to the main part f the lake around the second week of May. Catching striper fish really heats up the last week of Aril when the water reaches 70 degrees. Live bait is the best but the topwater bite is great from late April to late May. In mid-May, most of the fish are stacked up on ledges and humps and live bait is overall the best option but by the end of June live bait still works but slab spoons work better on the fast-moving fish.

Summer
